Covid-19 and to be specific Covid-19 restrictions by the government have never had a taste in lives of many.Majority lost jobs, failed businesses and those who try get the lowest returns.

My attention was drawn by this roadside roast meat vendors popularly known as mutura. The latter has always been associated with darkness but for the last two days it has been a different case in the streets of Kisii.

There always has been a notion that the so-called mutura does not taste good when consumed during daytime, but how? Biologically this is not applicable!

Here is the secret.Having talked to one of the vendors here is what he had to say;that the consumers would always want to hide their identify since there is that stereotyping that is attached to people who eat mutura, mannerless and eating of unclean meat, they say. This makes the consumers choose darkness.

On the other hand the spices or rather the contents of mutura are too ugly to be prepared during the day, hence late hours remains their darling. The other reason was that it's at this hour that most people are out to look for supper after a busy day so they can have the pieces as they do their activities-large market during late hours.

It also happens that it's at those hours that the raw materials are found, left overs from the butchery are the ones used to make the delicacy.

Now having that Kisii county was among the 13 counties shortlisted for a 7.00pm to 4.00am curfew, the vendors have suffered a big blow in that few customers turn up to the business, and majority of those who come do take aways.

They-vendors,still hope that after the thirty days things can normalize so as to have their businesses at their best again.
